Bouwhuis and Bowman Halloween 2009

Well, as usual it's been awhile since I posted anything. It seems like time just flies and a couple of months have passed. Well I will catch you up since the last time I posted. Halloween has come and gone. Halloween is always such fun at our house. I have two daughters, Emily and Melanie, who love Halloween and go all out with their costumes. They usually pick a theme for their family. Some years they go together and pick a theme together. Like one year they were Star Wars and another Harry Potter. They usually make their costumes. Emily is soooo talented. This year her theme was "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas". Here husband, Adam, was the Grinch, she was Martha Mae Hooviay , Landon was Max the dog, and Addison was Cindy Loo Who. She sewed all the costumes as well as sculpting the face of the Grinch and then making a latex mask out of it. Of course they were a hit at the Ward harvest party and Adam played the Grinch very well. Melanie's family went with the Egyptian theme. Melanie was a Egyptian Queen, Casey a Pharaoh, Mykell a Egyptian princess, and Kaylee a mummy.

Well August is over and September is already half over. Roger had an operation on his shoulder. About a month ago he fell stepping off his pickup truck, didn't gage the height of the step and it flipped him to the ground right on his shoulder. He tore the rotator cuff really bad. He will have to be in a sling for about 4 weeks and then physical therapy. It could take a good 6 months to heal fully. Boy, he will go crazy as he has to be doing something all the time. I'll be crazy watching him be crazy. Anyway that's life right now. It almost seems like I'm back to being the mommy taxi driver as I take Mykell to school every day, pick her up on Mondays and try to get to Elk Grove to see Wendy's kids and watch Elise's soccer games. Good to be busy.

HOT AUGUST NIGHTS 2009

Trying to live out our teen years with our 1955 Chevy that we call the bumble bee. We had a great time cruising the streets of Reno and then going to a Beach Boys concert. It was great. We went with our daughter Shauna and her husband Whit.

We went to Hot August Nights and this is a picture of the boulevard where we cruised in our 1955 Chevy.

Skateboarding Compitition April, 2009

This is Nicholas, Stephanie's first child, and of course our grandson. He is really into skateboarding so his parents entered him into his first skateboard competition on April 18, 2009. He did really well for one of the youngest there and his first time. He is 7 years old. We went to cheer him on which was alot of fun. We look forward to more competitions. Check out the slide show below for a few of his many skateboarding moves.

Annual family easter egg hunt

Grandpa is just one of the kids. Here he is scoping out their Easter candy and sneaking a few bites here and there. The baby to the left is Addison,
Emily's youngest. Right behind her on the left is Kaylee and Mykell Melanie's girls. In the center is Landon, Addison's older brother. The girls on the right are Wendy's two girls. Elise and then baby Ella. She has a son Ethan, 12--too old for Easter egg hunt , so he says. The two boys in front of Grandpa are Zachery and Nicholas, Stephanie's boys.

Mardi Gras Fun on the Cruise

When we went on our cruise we stayed the night in New Orleans. We then toured the city. At a flea market we found these Mardi Gras Masks which we wore on Christmas night on the cruise ship. Also as we were walking the streets of New Orleans trucks drove down the street with Santa in them and threw out beaded necklaces.
